Just saw Tom Tom Club and Devo in Brooklyn. Needless to say it ruled. Everyone seemed on top of their game, devo especially.
The song that got me into devo in college was a little ditty called mongoloid. I heard it first in a film class where they showed a Bruce Connor film that used it. This was one of the few films that I stayed awake for, “Tampopo” was not as lucky (sorry terry).
Here’s them playing it live in the seventies, it was just as awesome tonight.

Just finished some spots at 31 for The N. We had actual stars from Degrassi at our office. We shot them on our green screen and miniaturized them using movie magic.
So my laundry place has been closed since saturday with most of my t-shirts, socks, and garments that separate my junk from my trousers, inside. The gate outside has angry letters outside saying “Where are my clothes?!” In time I imagine this will turn into a wall of remembrence of the great clothes we all once had.Fare thee well, Russkees t-shirt and Hane’s white long-sleeve undershirt.UPDATE 6-11-08- The internets were abuzz yesterday that Klean and Kleaner had reopened so I went there this morning and sure enough, it was business as usual. I asked what happened and was told, “there was an emergency, but thats all I can say.” Either way, I have my clothes back where they belong, on the floor of my room.
